Delhi, 09: In a bid to facilitate investments into the state, the Government of
Maharashtra in its first big economic push of the year has announced the
state’s first-ever Global Investment Summit - “Magnetic Maharashtra:
Convergence 2018” which will be held from February 18 to 20, 2018, informed the
Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis.
The
summit aims to promote indigenous manufacturing and to provide impetus to Prime
Minister’s flagship program ‘Make in India’ will be held at the MMRDA Grounds,
Bandra Kurla Complex, in Mumbai.
Informing about this, the Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the first 'Magnetic Maharashtra -
Convergence 2018' Global Investment Summit will be organized with the aim of
promoting investment in the state and the conference will be inaugurated by
Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This conference has been
organized in order to promote state-of-the-art products and to promote Make-in-India
initiative.
The Chief Minister said that
the state has reclaimed its prime position in industry sector in the last three
years. About fifty percent of the total foreign investment in the country is done
in Maharashtra. The state is also in the forefront in infrastructure, exports
and finance. In the next ten years, Trillion dollar economy will be created in
the state, hoped the chief minister. “The political
climate in Maharashtra is conducive for global investments and economic growth.
The Chief Minister said that
the progress of the industry department is more than 20 percent higher than all
the departments. In 2016, the 'Make in Maharashtra' conference was organized in
the state. The result of this conference was very positive. About 20 thousand 984
MoUs were signed in this conference. Of
these, 51 per cent of the projects have been operational, 61 per cent of the
proposed investments have been made, while about 74 per cent of the 22 lakh expected
jobs have been created.
Industries Minister Subhash
Desai briefed the state government about the important decisions taken by the
government. He said, due to the new schemes, an environment conducive to
industries has been created in the state. Maharashtra has always been the
center of attraction for global investors. He said that the state government's ‘Women
Industrial Policy’ is the first national level policy. He said that it would be
useful for establishing a future-ready state, which has consistently topped
global innovation and smart productivity.
This three-day conference is
based on the four main pillars of the Global Investment Council, employment,
sustainability, infrastructural facilities and future industries. Through this
first global investment summit, we intend to strengthen the identity of
Maharashtra as the gateway to all industrial investment in India.

by the launch of '#MadeForBusiness' tagline and Magnetic Maharashtra - Convergence
2018, smart phone application and
www.midcindia.org/convergence2018/registration, which would provide all
information about this conference.
In order to support the
budding and young professionals of the state, this conference will organize
'Magnetic Maharashtra Start Up- Under 30'. The winners of the competition will
be given a prize of Rs 50 lakh, second and third prize of Rs 30 lakh and the
third prize of Rs 20 lakh respectively, informed the Chief Minister.
