Jalna Multi-Modal Logistics Park MoU Signed Marathwada and Vidarbha Region To Be Benefitted - Union Minister Nitin Gadkari




 New Delhi, 21: In order boost the economy and exports and bring about overall development of Marathwada and Vidarbha regions, a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to develop a Multi Modal Logistics Park at Jalna District was signed in presence of Union Ministers, MoS, Maharashtra Ministers and Members of Parliament, today.


Speaking after the signing of MoU, the Union Minister, Shri Gadkari apprised about the upcoming projects across the country. Speaking about Jalna MMLP, the Minister apprised that Jalna is an upcoming industrial area with its catchment spread through Aurangabad-Shendra-Bidkin (NICDC) belt. The catchment area includes industries like steel, articles of Iron and scrap, Agro based (processed fruits and juices), cotton, grapes and processed vegetables and many more. Informing about the MMLP site at Jalna, the minister apprised that it is located in the villages of Jawasgaon and Daregaon covering an area of 182 ha, which is in the possession of JNPA, and located 40 km from Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC).

The MoU was signed at 2, Motilal Nehru Marg, the official residence of the Union MoRTH Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari. Present on this occasion was, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbanand Sonwal, MoS Shri Raosaheb Danve-Patil, MoS for Finance, Dr Bhagwat Karad. The Cabinet Ministers from Maharashtra, Industries Minister, Uday Samant, EGS Minister, Sandipan Bhumare, and agriculture Minister, Abdul Sattar were present at the signing event. Members of Parliament, Shri Hemant Patil, Shri Unmesh Patil, Dr Pritam Munde, Shri Prataprao Chikhalikar, Shri Sudhakar Shrungare, MLA Shri Arjun Khotkar were also present.

The total cost of the Jalna MMLP is being built at a cost of Rs 450crore, and once completed, it will promote exim commerce in Maharashtra’s Marathwada area, apprised the union minister. Warehouses, cold storages, intermodal transfers, handling facilities for container terminals, bulk/break-bulk cargo desegregation areas, bonded warehouse and customs facilities, supports logistics and commercial facilities such as general good shops, eateries will definitely boost the economy of these regions, informed Shri Gadkari.
