New Delhi,11 : Digital Maharashtra will be the main attraction of the state’s pavilion at the 36th India International Trade Fair commencing at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, From Nov. 14 -27 .
Visitors coming to the state pavilion will get to see state’s rich flora and fauna, tourism and industrial progress through both digital as well as virtual form. As many as 80 stalls under the small scale category will be putting up their items for exhibition and sell. At the same time cultural programmes depicting rich culture of the state will be presented by its artistes .
Being organized under the aegis of Union Commerce and Industry ministries , the 36th Edition of the fair by India Trade Promotion Organization(ITPO) has Digital India as its theme and will be having participation from 24 countries, 27 states of the country besides 4 Union Territories. In sync with the Fair’s theme the State pavilion is also being readied accordingly.
On the ground floor of the state pavilion will be stalls highlighting state’s rich flora and fauna , tourism and industrial progress through both digital as well as virtual form. Alongside, there will be demonstration of the state’s handicraft and handloom items. On the first floor will be stalls informing about Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, CIDCO, etc. On the second floor will be stalls having items of handlooms and handicrafts for sell besides those by small scale entrepreneurs. Other than this as many as 180 entrepreneurs from small scale industries will also be taking part in the two –week long fair.
Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis to inaugurate the state pavilion
While the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the state pavilion at 4 pm. on Nov 14 , the state industry minister, Subhash Desai will preside over the function. Also present on the occasion will be Minister of State for Industry Pravin Pote –Patil, Principal Secretary, Industry, Apurva Chandra and other senior officials.
Cultural treat for the visitors
Visitors to the pavilion will be treated with rich and traditional cultural programme of the state. They will be welcomed with traditional ‘shehnai-vadan’. Folk artistes will be playing on traditional musical instrument right outside the pavilion’s entrance.
Maharashtra Day to be celebrated on Nov. 26
The Maharashtra Day will be celebrated at the Fair’s Lal Chowk Theater at 5.30 pm on Nov. 26 in which about 35 artistes from Kalaranjana Group will present a dance showcasing Maharashtra’s rich culture and traditions.
