6 New Passport Seva Kendras To Be Started In Maharahtra Shortly- MEA Secretary, Dnyaneshwar Mulay

New Delhi, 08:  In a bid to expedite the process of ensuring passport facility to one and all in the Country, 251 New passport Seva Kendras would be started throughout India with 16 new centres opening up in Maharashtra shortly, said the Foreign Affairs Secretary, Dnyaneshwar Mulay, here today.

The government has decided to set up a new passport service centre with the objective of providing quick service facility, “Passport at Your Doorstep” to all the citizens by March 2018, said Mulay. Going by this deadline, we have to ensure that 251 Seva Kendras go operational in the country and 16 seva kendras in Maharashtra by March end, informed the Secretary.  A total of 20 passport Seva Kendras were to be opened in the State, however, 4 have already gone operational in the Districts of Aurangabad, Solapur, Kolhapur and one at Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune.

The centres where the new offices would come up include, Sindhudurg, Wardha, Jalna, Latur, Ahmednagar, Pandharpur, Sangli, Beed, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai South Central, Ghatkopar, Navi Mumbai, Dombivili, Panvel, Nanded and Jalgaon.  With this the score of the Passport Seva Kendras would reach to 27 in the State.
