Saudi Arabia’s Emaar Company To Invest in Maharashtra under Food Processing











New Delhi, 2: Under the food processing sector, the Saudi Arabian Government Company Emaar has expressed its eagerness to invest in Maharashtra. In this context, positive talks were discussed in a meeting held in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Maharashtra Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis informed that the process of signing the contract will be done sooner.
A meeting was held at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, the official residence of the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis was accompanied by his counter parts of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chavan and Gujarat Vijay Rupani and members of the Emaar Industry Group.
Emaar, a company working in the food processing sector in Middle-East countries, is a leading Saudi Arabia government company. During the Middle East tour of Prime Minister Modi, there was a preliminary discussion about the company's cooperation in food security for oil security. In the backdrop of the same, a meeting was held today as per the invitation of the Prime Minister. The company showed interest in investing in three states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, and it is understood that the company has the capability to invest in all these three states.
Positive deliberations were carried out on sending these products made through processing of fruits, vegetables and cereals in the Middle East. The company's team will arrive tomorrow (03rd May) and a presentation will be made about the proposed project of investment in the presence of senior officials of the Maharashtra State Industrial Development Corporation along with officials of other concerned departments. All the necessary documents related to the investment of the project will be completed within 30 days and the agreement will be executed. Districts like Nashik will mainly benefit by this project, which will process on mango, grapes, onion, pomegranate and vegetables. If a food park is built in this area, it will definitely benefit from getting a permanent price for farmers' produce. Also, the quantity of food grains will be reduced considerably.
Private network usage notice for Mahanet
The Chief Minister, Shri Fadnavis in a series of his meetings, called upon the Union Minister of State for Telecommunications with (Independent Charge), Manoj Sinha, today. Speaking about the Flagship Project of GoI’s Bharatnet, the chief minister informed that Mahanet Project is being set up in Maharashtra, which is an important project of the central government, through which efforts are made to reach every gram panchayat. Chief Minister Fadnavis suggested the use of private companies' fiber network and bandwidth for speeding up the project. This kind of proposal has been introduced for the first time and appropriate action will be taken. In addition to using the network of private companies' fiber network, the areas where the network access would not be possible, then in these areas, with the help of government intervention, the time duration will be reduced to half of the total time of implementation. This will definitely benefit the network to reach in villages, schools, health centers, markets, agriculture, etc. along with the Gram Panchayats.
Information the media about the remarkable achievements of the State, the Chief Minister said that the government has fulfilled the goal of clean Maharashtra in a short time. Also, work has been done to distribute electricity to every village panchayat and revenue village in most of the villages. The goal of reaching the remaining households would be completed in a year. Additional Chief Secretary  to chief minister, Pravin Pardeshi, Principal Secretary of Department of Information Technology, SVR. Srinivasan, resident commissioner of Delhi, Abha Shukla, special secretary of the Central Telecommunication Department Shiva Salem were present during the meeting.
