Maharashtra To Get 14 National Awards Under ‘Poshan Maah’ Mission Kolhapur Gets Highest of Five Awards




New Delhi, Oct. 8:  Maharashtra has received 14 National Awards for exemplary performances in the 'Nutrition Month' program organized by the Women and Child Development Ministry across the country. However, Kolhapur District alone has the credit for getting five awards. These awards would be presented on October 10 in Delhi.
Under POSHAN Abhiyaan, September was celebrated as the Rashtriya Poshan Maah across the country to address the malnutrition challenges and sensitize all the citizens regarding the importance of holistic nutrition. Ministry of Women & Child Development as the nodal agency launched Rashtriya Poshan Maah or National Nutrition Month, across the length and breadth of the country on the 01st of Sep 2018.
Maharashtra has been declared for 14 awards. Kolhapur District alone takes the distinction of getting five awards, which is commendable.
The program consisted of creating awareness about the importance of nutrition and giving an individual access to government services to support supplement nutrition for their children and pregnant women and lactating mothers. A wide range of activities like focusing on antenatal care, anemia, growth monitoring, girl's education, diet, right age of marriage, hygiene and sanitation, eating healthy were some of the themes were organised during the Poshan Maah. All these programs were registered on the Nutrition Campaign website. In addition, this program was declared at the regional level, the individual and District level for the outstanding work in the implementation of this program.
Kolhapur’s Five Women Employees To receive Individual awards            

      Kolhapur District has been honored with the highest of five individual awards for exemplary performance underNational Nutrition Month campaign. Anganwadi Sevika from male, Panhala Taluka, Rajshree Salaskar, Health Assistant of Chikhali,of Kagal taluka, Smt. Sandhya Chandane, Smt Smita Chopde, supervisor of primary health center at Kekhale of Panhala taluka, and attendants Vaishali Shitole, Asha Varkar Shobha Lohar will be honored with this award.
Among others, ANM worker Chanda Jhalke, Bhandara District, Health India activist Puja Verulkar, Chandrapur District, Supervisor Kalpana Andure and Sangita Pawar of Ahmednagar District, Anganwadi sevika Manda Shinde of Nashik district, Pushpa Shinde (Asha), and Ashram Lakshmi Gaikwad, (ANM).
Kiran Suryavanshi, Child Development Project Officer of Chandrapur will be honored with the District level award. Child Development Project Officer, Nashik’s
Sunil Dosane will also be felicitated with this award. The award will be distributed at the hands of eminent dignitaries from the Women and Child Welfare Ministry in a program organized at Hotel Ashok, on October 10.
