New Delhi, 5: Maharashtra’s Five Anganwadi Sevikas would be honored for their outstanding contribution with the National Award for 2017-18 on January 7, 2019.
The Anganwadis have been set up under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) programme, falling under the purview of Ministry of Women and Child Development. The said Ministry conducts various programs which are implemented through Anganwadi Sevaks up till the village level. The Aanganwadi Sevikas contributing extensively for effective implementation of programs under this Scheme have been selected for the National Award, of which five are from Maharashtra.
The Anganwadi workers play a critical role in strengthening the foundation of the country by ensuring health and wellbeing of the newborns, ensuring nutritional standards and maintaining cleanliness.
Amravati District’s Ms Archana Salode from Kurdi Aanganwadi and Ms Vanita Kose from Tembhulkheda Anganwadi have been selected for the National Award under Varud Child Development Service Scheme. Under Varora project of Chandrapur District, Ms Anjali Borekar of Yenasa Anganwadi, under Kolhapur’s Karveer Project, Ms Akkatai Dhere and Ms Sneha Kshirsagar from Mumbra, Thane has been selected from Reti Bandar Aangwanwadi.
The awards organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development will be presented to the Aanganwadi workers on 7th January 2019 at the Pravasi Bhawan.
