Delhi, 28 : The Union Government on
Thursday unveiled first batch of 20 cities for the ambitious Smart City
Mission. The List of Smart City was declared by Union Urban Development
Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
Bhubaneswar topping the list, Pune and
Solapur coming second and ninth places respectively in the list.
Pune proposed to invest in
retrofitting selected local area. In order to become one on the top ten cities
in ease of doing business and e-governance. Pune will be developed to have
basic infrastructure through water and power supply, sanitation and solid based
management and public transport and IT connectivity and it will be focus on
creating sufficient high end jobs to leverage Pune’s human capital and building
city attractiveness further.
Solapur with a vision to make clean
and efficient progressive city. The objective is to create attractive and sustainable
environment citizens. It proposes for the initiatives to drive visitor to spend
more time in core city area through urban design and pedestrianziation, farmer
