‘Farm pond on Demand’ becomes Countries Innovative scheme


              
     
New Delhi , 20 : Maharashtra governments ambitious scheme ‘Farm pond on Demand’ has been selected as one of the countries 10 most innovative scheme .    
         The 11th Civil Service Day function held at Vigyan Bhavan today  was formally inaugurated by Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh. On this occasion a booklet of such innovative scheme has been prepared which would be formally released by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi here tomorrow.               
          This booklet contain all the detail about  ‘Farm pond on Demand’ scheme. This scheme is been implemented in Maharashtra in a very transparent manner. The Farmer from state  can apply for this scheme through the government web portal ‘Apale Sarkar’. The applicant  can see  status of the  application online . Hence, the scheme is getting good response from farmers across the state. So far  30,000 Farm pond have been made. On which the state government has spent an amount of Rupees  120 crore.  Most of the farm pond have come up  in the drought prone areas of Marathwada and Vidrabha.  
               In the Marathwada region 8,370 Farm pond have been made while in Vidarbhas Amravati Division 8,104 such Farm Pond have been made. Similarly  in Nagpur the number of such Farm Ponds is 1,548 while in Nashik Division this number stands at 3,019 .  Such farm ponds stand be of great use for farmers in the absence of sufficient rain fall during the Kharip session. At the same time during the Rabi session this farm pond can work as water reservoir. They also help in enhancing the under ground water level.            
                It may be recall that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called for doubling the farmers out put by 2022 and at the same time  building up of 5 lakh farm ponds. It is in pursuit of this goal that Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis has taken timely initiative  in this regards he takes regular meeting with District Magistrate  to review the progress of  Farm Pond Scheme .                   
           Meanwhile , on this occasion an Exhibition has been put up at Vigyan Bhavan where this ambitious scheme of Maharashtra is also among the 10 Top Innovative scheme which are display there . Ministers and Officers who visited this Exhibition during the day took keen interest in ‘Farm  Pond on Demand’ Scheme of Maharashtra and were all praise for it.
