Maharashstra’s Four Civilians Conferred Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards – 2017




New Delhi, 24:  Maharashtra’s four civilians have been conferred with the prestigious ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak’ Award for their meritorious act of saving the life of a person.  A total of 44 civilians have been conferred this award throughout the country. After the permission of President Ramnath Kovind, the 'Jeevan Raksha Padak Award 2017' was announced by the Union Home Ministry today.
Maharashtra's Rajendra Gurav and Bhanuchandra Pandey have been conferred with 'Uttam Jeevan Suraksha Medal'. The 'Jeevan Rakshak Medal' award has been announced for Pranay Tambe and Prabhakar Sathe.
Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards are given to a person for meritorious act of humane nature in saving the life of a person.  The award is given in three categories, namely, Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak.  Persons of either sex in all walks of life are eligible for these awards.  The award can also be conferred posthumously.
The President of India has approved the conferment of Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards – 2017 on 44 persons which includes Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 07, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 13 and Jeevan Raksha Padak to 24 persons. 07 awards are posthumous.  Maharashtra’s Rajendra Tukaram Gurav, Bhanu Chandra Pandey will be felicitated with 'Uttam Jeevan Suraksha Medal' and  Master Tambe Pranay Rahul and Prabhakar Gangadhar Sathe will be conferred with 'Jeevan Rakshak Medal'.
 “The decoration of the award consists of a medal; certificate signed by the home minister and demand draft is presented to the awardee.
