Election Commission Announces Biennial Elections for Maharashtra’s 6 Vidhan Parishad Seats






New Delhi, April 23: The Election Commission has decided to hold Biennial Election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council from said Local Authorities Constituencies, in accordance with the following programme : -
           
              The issue of Notifications would be on 26th April, 2018 and the Last date of making nominations would be 3rd May, 2018. The Scrutiny of nominations has been fixed on 4th May. The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is assigned as 7th May. The date for polling has been fixed for 21st May, 2018 between 8.00am to 4.00pm. The counting of Votes has been held on 24th May, 2018 and the whole election process in this regard shall be completed on 29th May, 2018
             

                The term of office of six members of the Maharashtra Legislative Council from six Local Authorities’ Constituencies is due to expire on 31st May, 2018 and 21st June, 2018 as per details given below:
 

                  Shri Anil Dattatrey Tatkare’s term from Raigad-cum-Ratnagiri-cum-Sindhudurg Constituency is due to expire on 31.05.2018. Likewise, Shri Jadhav Jaywantrao Pundlikrao from Nashik, Shri Bhangdiya Mitesh Gotulal from Wardha-cum-Chandrapur-cum-Gadchiroli constituency term would expire on 21.06.2018, Shri Abdullah Khan A. Latif Khan Durrani from Parbhani-cum-Hingoli, Shri Pravin Ramchandraji Pote from Amravati constituency and Shri Dileeprao Dagdojirao Deshmukh ‘s term would expire on 21st June, 2018
