hygiene
New Delhi, April 19: Maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in public health facilities, the District Public Hospital of Gadchiroli was honored with the national ‘Kayakalp Award’ at the hands of Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri J P Nadda, during the national felicitation ceremony of Kayakalp awardees (2017-18) for their work, today.
New Delhi, April 19: Maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in public health facilities, the District Public Hospital of Gadchiroli was honored with the national ‘Kayakalp Award’ at the hands of Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri J P Nadda, during the national felicitation ceremony of Kayakalp awardees (2017-18) for their work, today.
Central Government
Hospitals and various hospitals in the States were considered for this
prestigious Award. Of which, the
hospitals which maintained higher levels of sanitation and hygiene and matched
the standards set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare were awarded
today with this coveted prize. ‘Kayakalp’ has been instrumental in inculcating
a sense of ownership amongst all stakeholders. This sense of ‘ownership’ has
translated into “commitment for Swachhta. Maintaining high standards of
sanitation and hygiene in public health facilities, the District General
Hospital of Gadchiroli was honored with Maharashtra’s First Clean and hygienic
hospital. District medical
Superintendent, Dr. Pramod Khandate and Additional M.S. Dr. Anil Rode received
this prestigious award. The Award consisted of Rupees 50 lakh, a memento and a
Certificate.
Smt Anupriya Patel,
Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Smt Preeti Sudan, Secretary
(Health), Shri Parameswaran Iyer, Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and
Sanitation and Dr. Promila Gupta, DGHS, were also present at the event.
Baramati and Shrirampur Hospitals Felicitated
The Baramati Women
Hospital near Pune was felicitated with ‘kayakalp Award competition’ award.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Sadanand Kale and Deputy M.S. SBapu Bhoi received
this award. It consisted of Rs 20 lakh, a memento and a certificate.
The Shrirampur Rural
Hospital in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra was honored with the first Rural
Hospital of Maharashtra to bag the Kayakalp Award under Rural Hospital
category. Medical Superintendetn Dr. V.K. Jamdhale and State Coordinator, Dr.
Rahul Shinde received this award. The
award constituted of Rs 15lakh, a memento and a Certificate.
Wardha District’s Mahatma Gandhi Medical
Institute Felicitated
Mahatma Gandhi
Institute of Medical Science (MGIMS), Wardha received the Certificate of
Appreciation Award. Medical Superintendent, Dr. S.P.Kalantri and Dr. B.S.Garge
received this award. The Award constituted of a memento and a certificate of
Appreciation.
The union Health
Ministers gave away the awards to the winners under various categories. Under
the Central Government Hospitals A category, the first prize of Rs2.5 Crore was
given to the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.Post
graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh was
judged as the runner-up in this category with Rs. 1.5 crore prize
money.Commendation Award of Rs. 50 Lakh was given to JIPMER, Puducherry along
with Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi.
Shri Nadda
congratulated the awardees and said that cleanliness is no more a one-time
activity but is integrated in our day-to-day practices and has become a habit.
Kayakalp has played a pivotal role in gaining trust and confidence of community
in public health facilities.He further added that the zest and zeal shown by
the hospitals and their collective efforts in improving cleanliness, hygiene
and infection control practices should continue unabated.
