New Delhi, June 26: Out of the total 730 projects
sanctioned by the Centre under Pradhan Mantri
Kisan Sampada Yojna (PMKSY), across all the verticals, the State of
Maharashtra has been sanctioned a maximum of 136 projects.
The Ministry of Food Processing
Industries under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana
(PMKSY) has sanctioned a total of 730 projects across the country. PMKSY is
expected to a leverage
investment of Rs 31 Thousand 4 Hundred crores, handle of 334 lakh MT agro-produce
valuing Rs 1 Lakh 04 Thousand 125 crores. Of which, 730 projects have been
sanctioned for Maharashtra. This would benefit 20 lakh farmers and generate 5
Lakh 30 Thousand 500 direct and indirect employment in the country by the year
2019-20.
Under
PMKSY, the schemes that are implemented
include Mega Food Parks, Integrated
Cold Chain and value addition Infrastructure, Creation or expansion of
Food Processing and Preservation
Capacities, Infrastructure for
Agro-processing Clusters, Creation of Backward and Forward Linkages, Food
Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure and
Human Resources and Institutions.
The
bifurcation of sanctioned Projects to Maharashtra include 67 projects under
Cold Chains, 24 Unit Schemes, 22 Food Testing Labs, 12 projects under Backward
and Forward Linkages, 8 under
Agro-processing Clusters and 3 Mega Food Parks.
Under PMKSY, 66 projects have been sanctioned
for Uttar Pradesh, 55 for Gujrat and 50 projects to Tamil Nadu. This information
was stated by Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Shri
Rameswar Teli, in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
