Delhi, March 14: The Government of
Maharashtra presented its Budget for the Year 2023-2024 recently. Budget
allocations and provisions for various sectors were announced. Financial assistance, encouragement to
natural farming, subsidies and loan waivers, accidental cover for farmers etc were
made in this Budget. Some highlights
concerning farmers and farming sector are presented below.
‘Namo Shetkari
Sanman Nidhi Yojna’
Rs.12,000 Sanman Nidhi For The Farmers of Maharashtra

Addition to Pradhanmantri Krishi Sanman Nidhi
Yojana by State Government

UNIT IN VIDARBHA

Facility Centre at Dr. Punjabarao Deshmukh Agriculture College, Nagpur to
promote the use of advanced technology.
·
State Government to spend Rs. 228 Crore for
this Centre
·
Advanced Orange Processing Units in Nagpur,
Katol, Kalameshar (Nagpur). Morshi (Amravati) and Buldhana District Rs. 20
Crore for each centre
Irrigation
– River Linking Projects
·
State will fund the Damanganga-Pinjal river
linking project
·
Water from the sub-basins of the river Nar-Par
Ambika, Auranga Damanganga, Vaitarna Ulhas will be utilized for bridging the
deficit of Mumbai, Godavari basins.
·
This will benefit Marathwada and Nashik,
Jalgaon, Nagar from North Maharashtra
·
Water from Vainganga basin will be brought in
to Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Yavatmal, Akola, Buldhana and Washim through Vainganga-Naiganga-Painganga
river linking.
Go Seva and Cow Conservation
·
Formation of Maharashtra Go Seva Commission
to conserve, nature and protect indigenous cow breed.
·
Commission will implement schemes like
Govardhan Govansh Seva Kendra Yojana and ‘Gomay Mulyavardhan Yojana’
·
Increasing the facilities of Embryo
Fertilization and Transplantation for the protection of indigenous cow breed.
·
Rs.160 crore for the second phase of dairy
development in 11 districts of Vidarbha- Marathwada.
·
New veterinary college in Ahmednagar District.
Shelter And Food Facilities At APMCs For
Farmers Coming to Sell Produce

Facilities for farmers coming to APMCs to
sell their agricultural produce,

Loan
Waiver Scheme for the Farmers in Maharashtra
·
The remaining eligible famers of the 2017’s
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana will be benefited.
·
This Government has provided the benefits of
Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Shetkari Loan Waiver Scheme to the Farmers.
·
Rs.4683 crore were directly transferred to
the accounts of Rs, 12.84 lakh eligible farmers.
Mahakrishi Vikas Abhiyan for
the Farmers in Maharashtra

‘Mahakrishi Vikas Abhiyan’ to be implemented
to increase the income of the farmers
