Maharashtra is Best in Oil and Gas Conservation




New Delhi, 16  : Maharashtra has been awarded as the Best Performing State among big state in Oil and Gas Conservation activities by Petroleum Conservation Research Associatio (PCRA). Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan handed over the award to Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Swadheen S Kshatriya today at function organised by Ministry of Petroleum.

            Petroleum Conservation Research Association chosen the State as the Best State in Oil and Gas Conservation, PCRA has conducted a study about Oil and Gas Conservation. Maharashtra had organised 1022 camps to create awareness among the public about the importance of conservation of oil and gas and also organised 420 camps for propagating the concept of conservation of oil and gas. To create the awareness about the conservative use of domestic gas state had organised 12561 camps for the housewives all over the state. In industrial area 261 camps were to reduce the gas pollution and 6153 camps were organised to reduce the pollution by the vehicles. State has organised total 20417 camps for the conservation of oil and gas and to reduce the pollution by the gases. On this basis PCRA has selected Maharashtra as the best performing State in the conservation of Oil and Gas.

            Today at a function in DRDO, New Delhi, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has presented Best Performing State Award to Chief Secretary Swadheen S Kshatriya. Deepak Kapoor, Principal Secretary (Food and Civil Supplies) and Abha Shukla, Resident Commissioner, New Delhi were also present in the function.
