DEEPAK KESARKAR MEETS UNION MINISTERS TO DISCUSS ON VARIOUS KONKAN ISSUES





NEW DELHI, 05: Discussion regarding various issues of  Konkan region of Maharashtra, Minister of state for Finance & Guardian Minister of Sindhudurg Deepak Kesarkar met with Suresh Prabhu,Minister of Railways,Prakash Javadekar,Union Minister of state for Environment,Forests and Climate Change and Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Union Cabinet Minister for Food Processing.He discussed on the issues of increasing coaches in ‘Rajya Rani Express’, issues regarding western ghat and  the proposal of Mega Food Park.

          Deepak Kesarkar demanded, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu,to increase the coaches of ‘Rajya Rani express’ train from 13 to 15, to create additional berths to cope with the demand of local passengers as they faces lots of trouble for the berths confirmation.Train run between Dadar Terminus to Sawantwadi Road covering the distance of 497 kilometers.It covers 20 stopage, connecting the cities holding importance for tourism,pilgrimage and business.

          Discussion regarding Western Ghat Eco-Sensitive Zone, Kesarkar met Union minister Prakesh Javadekar. Most of the area of Sindhudurg district found forest resemble area ,therefore lot of developments work got affected and caused heavy loss of the locals.Kesarkar demanded,to decrease the forest resemble area.This time Javadekar, assured taking the decision soon in regard and will also call a meeting at Mumbai in upcoming days, he said.

           Kesarkar also met Harsimrat Kaur Badal regarding the establishment of Mega Food Park in Sindhudurg District of the state. Sindhudurg is leading horticulture district of the state. Horticulture crops like Mango,cashew nut,coconut and kokum are grown in large quantity,but it lacks in processing these crops.He asked to pass the  proposal for setting up Mega Food Park in the district.
