MEETING WILL BE HELD IN MUMBAI ON NAR-PAR-TAPI-NARMADA PROJECT




NEW DELHI 08: To solve minor disputes between Maharashtra and Gujrat on ‘Nar-Par-Tapi- Narmada’ River Inter-linking Project meeting will be held in Mumbai on 16th of this month.This was decided in the meeting of the Special Committee for Interlinking of Rivers held at Vigyan Bhawan, in New Delhi today.


            Girish Mahajan was in National Capital to attend the Eight meeting of the Special Committee for Interlinking of Rivers. The Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Uma Bharti  chaired the meeting and was attended by, Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Sanwar Lal Jat, Secretary for Water Resources H.T Medghegiri and various water resources ministers from other states was present for the meeting.
 
            In this meeting , the points was discussed on the barriers in water inter-linking project. which has to run in various states. Girish Mahajan raised the issue on  Nar-Par-Tapi Narmada Project of river interlinking between Maharasthra and Gujarat.  He asserted that Maharashtra is not willing  to share river water with Gujrat.

To solve the issue and various minor dispute between two states , the high level committee decided to hold a meeting in Mumbai next week in the presence of state officers and cabinet secretary.
