“MGNREGA” WORKERS PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN ‘JALYUKT SHIVAR’ PROJECT :ARUN JAITLY



  New Delhi, 2 Feb :  The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely today said that the  Maharashtra government ambitious project “Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan” in which Various workers got employed and did excellent work under the MGNREGA programme for the implementation of “Jalyukt Shivar”

            Rural Devlopment and Panchayatraj Ministry organized ‘MGNEREGA SAMMELAN’ on the completion of Ten years of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employement Gurantee Act (MGNREGA) at Vigyan Bhawan.The Union Minister Arun Jaitly while addressing at the Sammelan said,In Maharashtra more than 1.20 lakh projects in 6,180 villages has taken place in its first year of inception.

              The Union Minister for Rural Devlopment,Panchayati Raj,Drinking Water and Sanitation,Shri Chaudhary Birender Singh, the Minister of State for Rural Development,Shri Sudarshan Bhagat, the Minister of State for Drinking Water & Sanitation,Shri Ram Kripal Yadav and the Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Shri Nihalchand were also present at the function.

          Speaking at  the function Finance Minister Arun Jaitlty said NDA Government has not only advanced MGNREGA scheme,but also allocated more Funds for it.

          Addressing on the occasion ,Rural Development Minister, Chaudhary Birender Singh said MGNREGA has reached 8 Crore Rural population and added that the target this year is to reach 11 crore people. He also said 18 lakh MGNREGA workers will be provided skill development training.

         Commissioner of MGNREGA ,State of Maharashtra Abhay Mahajan, District Collector of Latur Pandurang Pole, Deputy Secretary for employment guarantee scheme ,Maharashtra Promod Shinde, C.E.O of Latur & Amravati,Zila parishad, Selected Panchayat Samiti ,Sarpanch and employee having a total no. of 65 delegates were present for this function.
