Financial Assistance of 600 crore Demanded for Maharashtra Tribal Welfare : Vishnu Sawra

 New Delhi,07 : State  government has planned to introduce various innovative schemes for over all welfare of Tribal communities. As per priority set to achieve the desired goals within the stipulated time, pending funds and additional financial support of 600 crore was demanded for various projects and schemes by Maharashtra Minister for Tribal Development Vishnu Sawra at Conference of State Tribal Welfare Ministers at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi today. The Conference was chaired by The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, Secretary of  Maharashtra Tribal development ,Raj Gopal Deora was also present.

         Sanction for new 6 Eklavya Model Residential School    

The Minister asked to sanction for New 6 Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRC).To deliver quality education to tribal communities each scheduled district should have at least one EMRS & at least 2 in those districts having tribal population more than 4 lakhs.Hence, toatal of 6 new EMRS will be required by the state. Financial assistance required from MOTA is Rs.96 Cr. To start the schools.





Centeral Assistance under SCA & Art.275 (1) of the constitution of India.

The Bamboo Processing unit in Gadchiroli shall be completed in coming six months, he said, and it will provide employement to 250 families directly and around 1500  families indirectly in Gadchiroli district. This Bamboo processing unit will be run by society having 98%of Madia Gond ( PvTG) members. Hence he requested to sanction & release the remaining grant of Rs. 20.00 Cr. & Rs. 5.17 Cr. Of various pending projects.


Release of 2nd instalment of Post matric scholarship

He asked the Release of 2nd instalment of Post Matric scholarship for the year 2015-16. The proposal of Rs. 155.42 Cr. Has been submitted to central government. According to the proposal MOTA has sactioned Rs. 105.00 Cr. In PAC. The Utilization Certificate under these schemes has been submitted to Government of India. He requested to release the remaining grant of Rs. 52.92 Cr. as a second installment.


200 Cr. Assistance for setting Tele-communication in remote tribal area

Special assistance was asked by the Minister for setting Tele- communication Tower network in remote tribal area of the State. The Tribal Development Department has been implementing various schemes in Maharashtra State for social, cultural, educational development of Tribal and  also Health Services through Public Health Department. He said, Technological assistance will be most beneficial for public health programs & schemes for Tribal areas. He told Rs. 200.00 cr. financial assistance will be needed .


Assistance for ambulance & ANM services  in Ashram schools

  Assistance was asked for ambulance & ANM services in Ashram schools. He told most of the government Ashram schools are located in remote areas where it is difficult to get timely medical help especially in emergency situation, to tackle from this it is proposed to appoint an ANM in each sick room & an ambulance with doctor for near by Ashram schools for providing health services in emergency case.

 Various Development in Tribal Areas : Vishnu Sawra

 Mr. Vishnu Sawra was speaking at the Conference of State Tribal Welfare Ministers, he said  Maharshtra government devolved 5% of the Thrift Saving Plan (T.S.P) fund directly to the Panchayat Extension to Scheduled Areas      (PESA) Grampanchyayat. More than 180 crores have been directly given to them during the last financial year to utilize for infrastructure purposes,health, forestry, education, conservation of natural resources.


           The minister told that the state tribal development department runs 529 Ashram Schools & 490 hostels and provide  nutritious hygienic food to to tribal students. The Maharashtra government is also paying all the fees charges of tribal students. The government has also started Dr. A.P.J Abdul kalam Amrut Ahar Yojna to minimize malnutrition level. The state is also planning to issue cast validity certificates online. It will be done through
“Adipraman Pranali” . Various such  initiatives are been taken for the welfare of tribal development.
