New Delhi, 17 : The Maharashtra Pavilion at the Bharat Parb
here in the capital is attracting a lot of foreigners besides the local
visitors, especially the youngsters who seem to be quite impressed with the
various exhibits at its stalls. And this augurs well for the state tourism as
the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had earlier this year declared 2017 as
Visit Maharashtra Year.
Whether it is Alex
from Spain or Sam from Chicago, the USA, or Pratibha Seth and Neeraj Bharti,
both Delhi University students besides 6-7 others from the university, the
common refrain from them after visiting the pavilion was that they would make
it a point to visit Maharashtra, “a happening state and a great tourist
destination”.
Both Sam and
Alex said it was a great experience visiting the pavilion as they came to know
a lot about “this beautiful state of India we would love to visit as early as
possible “. It was quite interactive as we came to know about various
aspects of the state through modern gadgets on display here, they said.
And it augurs well for the state as Mr Fadnavis had announced about visit Maharashtra
year from Dilli haat here in the capital itself earlier
.
In fact, keeping this
in mind, these visitors were presented Maharashtra turban with the slogan Visit
Maharashtra Year 2017 written on it to promote the campaign. Earlier,
many of these students stood in front of the LED screen to wear typical
Maharashtrian turbans while others solved the E-puzzle to know about great
freedom fighters and social reformers from the state.
Virtual Tourism was
another point of attraction with these youngsters knowing through giant screen
about the rich flora and fauna of the state, particularly tigers of Tadoba
tiger reserve near Nagpur and were quite fascinated to see different movements
of the tiger.
