Maharashtra Day to be celebrated as ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’


New Delhi : April 29 :- The 58th Maharashtra Foundation Day on May 1 will be celebrated as ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’ Day with the Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, having interaction with the youth of the state who have the potential to contribute immensely towards economic, educational, & social development of the state.
            The concluding function to know the resolve of the youngsters towards the overall development of the state will be held at NSCI, Warli, Mumbai which will be presided over by Chief Minister. About 8000 youngsters are expected to take part in this programme in which they will declare their resolve. Several eminent personalities including Ratan Tata, Maj. Gen. Anuj Mathur, Akshay Kumar besides others will be present on the occasion.
            These personalities from different walks of life will have interaction with these youngsters on issues pertaining to state’s development besides seeking their suggestion in this regard. They will then apprise the Chief Minister about the outcome of this interaction, according to OSD to CM, Ms. Nidhi Kamdar.
            A state level competition was organized in December last towards this ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’ proramme in which students from various colleges & universities were asked to give their view points to bring about changes on 11 socio-economic issues. As per the information received accordingly, about 2500 entries were received from about 11500 students from across the state. Besides, another around six lakh students put in their suggestions in this context online. In the programme on ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’, youngsters will be given opportunity to present their resolve in almost every field.
Innovation exhibition on ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’
       A key highlight of ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’ programme would be innovation exhibition which would include, among others, a model of an indigenous aircraft developed by Capt. Amol Yadav. Similarly, innovative exhibits by other young people would also be put up at the exhibition. Besides, departments including  tourism, skill development, culture, education, home, I & PR, Samriddhi Mahamarg, MMRDA-Metro Rail, Maharashtra Trans Harbor link , MIDC, Start up scheme, MTDC, Agriculture, water supply, & cleanliness will also take active part in the exhibition. Booths / stalls pertaining to development and information of the state will also be put up there. The exhibition will also include the development model of the state as envisioned by the youngsters. The exhibition will open at 9 a.m.

Salient features of ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA
1.      The ‘TRANSFORM MAHARASHTRA’ campaign, started on December 26 last, has been started to know about the development related resolve of the youngsters.
2.    In the programme slated for May 1, more than 8000 youngsters have shown their interest to be part of it.

3.      Over six lakh online voters expressed their desire to be part of this campaign.
