New Delhi, 29: Maharashtra’s Member of Parliament, Shri A.T. Nana Patil demanded that the District of Jalgaon should be included in the Central Government’s 'Prasad' scheme for its development of tourism, for, it has various tourist attractions and this would boost up employment to the youth as well.
Mr. Patil urged for the inclusion of Jalgaon district under the Prasad Scheme in the Lok Sabha. He said that there are many religious and tourist attraction places in the District. The ancient Temple of Omkareshwar, Unapdev hot water lakes, ancient Ganesh temple, Parola fort built by the father of Jhansi’s Rani Laxmibai, Shirsoli lake, Rameshwar Temple situated on the confluence of Tapi, Girna and Anjani rivers, have become an attractive tourist destination, attracting national and international visitors from various countries.
Under the ‘PRASAD’ scheme the focus is on development and beautification of the pilgrimage destinations. Provision of adequate infrastructural facilities is necessary to boost up Jalgaon as a tourist destination. Shri Patil urged for considering his demand to include Jalgaon in the ‘Prasad’ Scheme, which would encourage employment to the locals and the development of the tourist destinations as well, he added.
