Gauri Gadgil hails from Pune. Her Mother Sneha and Father Shekhar accompanied her to the office.  Shri Pranay Burde, who received the National Divyangjan Award along with her, also visited this office with his parents.  They were given a warm welcome by the Office. She narrates her story very innocently. She said, ‘I am good at Bharatnatyam as well. Past 10 years I have been learning and practicing it.  I have performed at Pune Festival’. I am not afraid of anything. I am an Arts graduate from SP College, Pune’. However, she doesn’t forget to thank her parents and expresses her gratitude towards them. When asked, what message would she like to pass on… She speaks very firmly and confidently, ‘You all should learn, only then will you be able to succeed… read, practice what you do…You Can Do It”… she brims. As though giving a hidden message, that everyone can do it… She really inspired one and all…handicapping the word, ‘Handicap’ itself and instilling lots of confidence and positivity in everyone.

Mumbai’s Pranay Burde says, ‘past 18 years I have been working with the Five Star Hotel.  Quickly he gathers to add, ‘I am the Linen Room attendant.  My father got me admitted in a special school.  From there, I passed out my class Vth and VIIth.  It is all my parent’s efforts and support, that I am independent today.  He says, I have two brothers, but, I am happy that I am not dependent on them.  I felt happy receiving the Award…I could see Delhi also”.  His message to everyone is, ‘don’t lose hope, keep doing good work, it will pay”… and he signs gladly on the Visitors’ register.
